Shorts for Kids

Dear Short for Kids Community,
At the advice of public health experts on COVID-19 best practices and in the interest of keeping our health the utmost priority, we have made the difficult decision to cancel all events and screenings for Short for Kids 27th March – 4th April 2020. We will inform you of the new programming as soon as possible.

Shorts for kids, the traditional festival of animation shortfilms promoted and organized by the Verona Film Festival – Culture Department of Verona Municipality, has become in the past seventeen years a valuable get together for kindergarten and primary school children. More than 5000 children have experienced last year the thrill of the big screen.
Flip through the archive of the past editions where some of the shorts may be found.
The 2020 programme is rich in stories’ diversity and topics, plus new shorts from all over the world will be screened.

The festival will take place at the Cinema Alcione (Via Verdi 20, Verona, Italy) and will be divided in two different programmes:
– the programme 3+, with short films suitable for kindergarten children and children in the first year of primary school;
– the programme 7+, with short films reserved for children in the last four years of primary school.
To allow for continuity of the cinematic experience, teachers will be offered “The hour of Cinema”, a notebook with hints and clues for educational activities and interdisciplinary links connected to the screened short films.
